about me

My experience with animals, especially Dogs goes back to my early teen years living in London. I was taught to clip poodles by a lady named Irene, she was a breeder and

successfully showed her Poodles in the conformation ring. I worked in a few salons before and after coming to Australia but mostly I have worked for my self. My experience working for other people in the animal trade has not always been a positive one, even in recent times.

I owned Boarding Kennels in NSW for 13 years. During that time I was breeding and showing my Dogs, German shepherd’s, Mini Poodles and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels I trained some of them in obedience, and successfully trialed them, achieving their titles. We did some Agility and some Tracking for fun, the Dogs love it. Obedience is my real love. My dogs are all getting old now the youngest is nearly 11 and the oldest is nearly 15.

I Qualified as an Obedience Instructor and Instructed classes over many years for our local Kennel Club. With the help of 2 friends, who where also qualified Obedience Instructors, we operated a Puppy Preschool from my Kennels. After selling my Boarding Kennels at the end of 2002 I moved to Hervey Bay for a short period of time.  I then sold the Property in Hervey Bay and bought a Winnebago Free Spirit Motorhome. I lived in this, for 5 years traveling up an down the east coast, property sitting mostly for Dog Breeders who have their property set up for their own dogs, only needing someone experienced with dogs to stay on the property and look after their animals. I would also go to Dog Show’s and display my Paintings.

I sold my Motorhome a few months ago in ’09 and have now settled in Forest Lake.

After taking a serious look at Grooming Franchises or working in a Salon, I decided to establish my own Mobile Grooming Business. I have bought a Ford Transit Van, had some very bold sign writing done and fitted it out with a Hydrobath, Grooming table and all my grooming equipment.  I work in my van I only need to park in a driveway or out the front of my customer’s home, plug in my power cord and fill up the Hydrobath with water.

I am not in the phone book but I do advertise in the Lakes News. My business is growing every week and I still have time to Paint my Pet Portraits.

I will once again be available to display my work at dog shows. In return for an invitation from a Kennel Club to attend their dog show, I will donate a painting for the Best in Show winner.
